White certificates are tradable documents certifying that a certain reduction of energy consumption has been attained.
The white certificate system was introduced in the Italian legislation by the Ministerial Decrees of 20 July 2004 and subsequent amendments and it provides that the distributors of electricity and natural gas annually reach certain savings quantitative targets for primary energy, expressed in equivalent tons of spare Petroleum (TEP).
G.M.T. S.p.A. as a certified Energy Service Company can ask the Energy Services Manager (GSE) to issue efficiency certificates, to certify the reduction in consumption achieved through interventions and energy efficiency projects.
G.M.T. S.p.A. deals with the measurement campaign, the formulation of the application, the relationship with the GSE and the sale of the obtained white certificates.
